// INSTALLATION GUIDE

> Follow these steps to install Timekeeper APK on your Android device.

Open APK File and Install

Open Downloads folder, tap timekeeper.apk. Enable "Allow from this source" and tap "Install".

Enable Accessibility Service

After launching the app, select Timekeeper in settings, tap the 3-dot menu and select "Allow" to enable accessibility service.

Exclude from Battery Optimization

Exclude the app from battery optimization to complete setup.

$ DETAILED ACCESSIBILITY SETUP

Step 1: First, open Accessibility settings

  1. Go to Settings → Accessibility
  2. "Timekeeper" will appear grayed out
  3. Even though it's grayed out, you MUST tap it
  4. A warning message will appear → Confirm and close

💡 You cannot proceed without displaying this warning!

Step 2: Open Timekeeper app in Settings

  1. Go to Settings → Apps → Timekeeper
  2. A 3-dot menu (︙) will appear in the top right
  3. Tap the 3-dot menu → Select "Allow"

Step 3: Return to Accessibility settings

  1. Go back to Settings → Accessibility → Timekeeper
  2. The switch is now enabled, so turn it on

  1. Tap the downloaded APK file
  2. Toggle "Allow from this source" switch
  3. Tap "Install" button
  4. After installation, tap "Open" to launch the app

> Android 7.0 and below

  1. Go to Settings → Security → "Unknown Sources" and enable it
  2. Tap the downloaded APK file
  3. Tap "Install" button
  4. Launch the app after installation

Timekeeper requires the following permissions to function properly:

  • •Usage Access: Required to monitor app usage time
  • •Disable Battery Optimization: Required for background operation
  • •Exclude from Sleep Mode: Required for continuous monitoring
  • •Background Service Permission: Prevents app from being auto-stopped

[Q] Notification won't disappear after update

The download loading indicator is a notification remnant. Slide down the notification bar and tap "Clear All" to remove it. The app functionality is not affected.

[Q] How to install updates?

  1. Download the new version APK
  2. The file will be in the Downloads folder, open it to install
  3. When asked "Allow installation from this source?", select "Yes"
  4. It will update the existing app (settings and data will be preserved)

[Q] Installation Failed

  • > Check if device has sufficient storage space
  • > Verify "Unknown Sources" setting is enabled
  • > Uninstall old version if exists

[!] Important Notice

On some Android devices, manufacturer-specific battery optimization may prevent the app from functioning properly. Restriction settings may also be reset by OS or other apps. Please be aware of these limitations.
